Christmas parades in December brought to a close a very busy calendar year for the Band. On December 4th a couple of our members joined in with the Greater Boston Ff Pipes & Drums to march in the annual Maynard Christmas parade. The weather was partly sunny and a brisk 38 degrees or so. Not to be outdone though the following week the Band marched in the Hampstead NH Christmas parade with a chilly temperature around 30 degrees. Despite the challenges of playing in the cold both parades were a success and a great way to end a great year for the band.
After some hard work and planning we are very excited to bring you some HUGE news!!!
For the first time ever we are having this years annual fundraiser at a great new location, The Courtyard Marriot in Nashua NH. We are also pleased to announce that The Greenfields will be performing along with the Flying Irish Step Dancers. There will be great food, raffles, live music, and drinks. This is going to be a party you won’t want to miss!!!
The Band would like to thank all of our Veterans for their service to our country
We would like to welcome the following new members to our group.
In the piping corp we welcome Jason Kennedy. Jason has a couple of years experience on the pipes and has already taken part with us during the Stoneham Centennial celebration. We also welcome beginner piper Meredith Antonelli. Meredith comes to us with great enthusiasm to learn the Highland Bagpipes and will be spending her time on the practice chanter.
October began on a soggy note as we took part in the misty morning celebrating the centennial of the Stoneham Fire Dept. Along with members of the Greater Boston Pipes & Drums we proudly if not slightly wet marched down Main Street in Stoneham to the Fire Dept headquarters. A shout out to our newest side drummer Ralph Morrison as he as he successfully handled the side drummer duties solo. A job well done also to the Stoneham FD for putting together a great program including the mobile 9/11 museum which made its Massachusetts debut that day. Pipe Major Rick Tustin, Drum Sgt Bill Stone, Pipers Jonathan Kinney and Jason Kennedy and side drummer Ralph Morrison took part in this event
