Westford & District Pipes and Drums is a fire service pipe band made up of Public Safety personnel and civilians who support the mission of the band.

Fantastic Summer comes to a close

It was a great summer of performances that culminated with a great relaxing weekend at the NH Highland Games and Festival on Sept 21-23.

August saw us performing at the Westford 4H fair on August 26th.  We look forwarded to repeating this performance next year.  We ended August on a sad note as we piped to his final resting place Tyler Ricard, long time friend of the Westford Fire Dept and son of Westford FF Shaun Ricard.  Tyler sadly passed after a long struggle with Muscular Dystrophy. What a Summer so far and still more to come

It certainly has been a busy summer starting with the unofficial start of summer Labor Day weekend.  Highlights include participating in the Page Hilltop Elementary School Memorial Day ceremony, the Westford Memorial Day ceremony, the Winchester Memorial Day parade, the Fitchburg FD Memorial Sunday in June, Flag Day ceremony, a Veterans Bike ride performance, 4th of July parades in Pepperell MA and in Raymond NH followed by our annual band bbq hosted by PM Rick Tustin.  To end July we took part in the MA Fire Academy graduation on July 27th. Busy month of May closes with weekend Memorial Day events

What a busy month of May.  We began the month assisting the 25th Marine Regiment as the remains of 1st Sgt Quinn were returned home to Temple NH to be laid to rest in his hometown.  1st Sgt Quinn was killed in action at the Battle of Tarawa on Nov 20, 1943.  It was an honor to pipe this hero to his final resting place.   Later that same day we traveled to Leominster MA to play at the one year anniversary celebration of the opening of the Monument Tap Pub.  A good time was had by all.
