Well it has been quite a year for the band.  In some manner or another members of the band took part in 27 various events over the past year capping off with our participation on Sunday December 13th at the Townsend MA Fire Dept’s new station ceremony.  We were proud to take part in this event.
Other highlights this past Fall has been marching with the Greater Boston Pipes & Drums in the annual Maynard Christmas Parade on Dec 6th.  Pipe Major Rick Tustin took part in Veteran’s Day ceremonies in Winchester while Pipe Sgt Don Parsons handled the Westford ceremony.  We thank the Winchester Veteran’s Post 3719 for their generous donation to the band this past year.  We were also honored to lead in MA Fire Academy class 236 as they graduated from the academy on November 20th.

Under the expert guidance of our piping and drumming instructors the members of the band have made huge leaps of progress with our playing ability.  Our drum corp has risen to the challenge of learning specific scores written for the band and the pipers continue their quest to learn new exciting marches.  2016 looks to be a promising year as we continue to strive to be ever better.

Mark your calendars our annual fundraiser the kick off to St Paddy’s day will be held on March 12th and we will be featuring a traditional corned Beef boiled dinner. Along with this festive evening of good food and music we will also be conducting a cash calendar raffle beginning just after the new year.  Daily prizes will be won during the month of March to coincide with our band night.  Stay tuned for more details.

To close out the year we are also proud to announce two new pipers to our ranks, Piper Tim Browne from Burlington Fire and Piper Bill Reed from Maynard Public Safety.  It is great to have these two on board.
